About Quess Green
In an era of insta-famous black queers, all-knowing twitter goddesses, & prized facebook queens, one’s social media presence speaks volumes of their narrative. For the non-binary “Queen Green,” this has always been true. A loud & proud genderqueer afro-puerto-rican hailing from the Bronx, NYC, Green is a rapper, blogger, published writer, fashion designer, vogue femme artist, hip-hop dancer, Youtuber, and social media persona. Whether it be through xym’s Youtube social commentaries on queer hookup culture, flawless insta page, xym’s joint EP rap project “GAS” with Adriiian, original black femme-inspired clothesline, or original femme, hip-hop choreography, Green’s artwork seeks to bring visibility to the cultural and artistic production of black queer, trans, and non-binary femmes and womxn.
Currently, Quess Green is a junior at Williams, majoring in American Studies with a concentration in Africana & Latinx Studies. Xe is the head choreographer of NBC, and member of Sankofa Step Team. This upcoming January, xe will be filming a documentary on the lives of queer and trans youth of color who perform in the ball scene of Los Angeles. The project is pre-emptively entitled “BLACK QUEER MAGIC.”
