In Context: Catherine Opie’s “Renee”

WCMA's recent acquisition of Catherine Opie's "Renee," is the focal point for salon-style conversations about the body in art, culture, and society.

Alexandra Foradas is Associate Curator of Visual Arts at MASS MoCA, where she has organized Bibliothecaphilia (2015), Janice Kerbel: Slip (2017), and Jenny Holzer (2017). Her current project, Taryn Simon: Assembled Audience + A Cold Hole, opens on May 26. She is interested in systems, meaning-making, and in the relationship between museums and performance. Foradas’ upcoming projects include an exhibition of work by contemporary artists investigating processes of translation.
