Asco Tour

In November 2011, we organized a Williams Alumni event at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), an opportunity for alumni in the region to see the exhibition Asco: Elite of the Obscure. Decoy Gang War Victim, a work by Asco, the influential Chicano artist collective from the ’70s and ’80s is on the cover of the October 2011 issue of Artforum. From LA to Williamstown: Asco is coming our way!

Asco: Elite of the Obscure, A Retrospective, 1972–1987 is now on view at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) and will head on its way to WCMA this February! Asco, the 1970′s Chicano art group is known for their public art, including their contemporary take on traditional Mexican murals.
