Two new finding aids for archival material from the Prendergast Archive and Study Center are now available. The Charles and Maurice Prendergast Personal Photo Collection and the The Eugénie Prendergast Book Collection can be accessed through WCMA’s Prendergast Archive and Study Center webpage and WCMA’s online collection database.
The Charles and Maurice Prendergast Personal Photo Collection spans from the 1870s to the late 1940s, and includes portraits of the artist brothers
as well as Charles’ wife Eugénie Prendergast, their father Maurice Prendergast, Sr. and several relatives and friends. The physical photos are housed in the Prendergast Archive and Study center and can be viewed with the assistance of a project staff member.
The Eugénie Prendergast Book Collection spans in date from 1900–1992 and consists of reading materials from Eugénie Prendergast’s personal library. Each individual book has been assigned a Library of Congress call number and has been entered into WCMA’s online collection database.
The book collection is arranged in call number order and books are available to be viewed at WCMA by making an appointment with a member of the project staff.
Some of the books include ephemera material such as flyers, brochures, exhibition schedules, as well as postcards and personal notes.
Stay tuned, more archival material and finding aids will be coming from the Prendergast Archive and Study Center.
