Photo by Megan CrossJack Zajac was a California Surrealist sculptor who had his start as a worker in a steel mill. His hands-on work with metal undoubtedly inspired his sculptural career. He subsequently formally studied art at Scripps College. He was the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Rome Prize and his work has been featured in many solo and group exhibitions in California and beyond.
Along with several other works donated to the college by alumnus Lawrence Bloedel, the sculpture is located outside of the main campus at Field Farm.
