Teaching with Art: Looking at Sculpture
September 1, 2012 - December 12, 2012
Eugene J. Johnson, Amos Lawrence Professor of Art, organized this exhibition to support his fall course, Art History 101, “Aspects of Western Art.” This course is the first half of the year-long introduction to art history, focusing on European and North American sculpture and architecture. Students will develop skills in visual analysis through looking closely at art. Professor Johnson selected four sculptures from the museum’s collection to demonstrate a range in media, aesthetics, cultures, and time periods.
