On the Grid
July 21, 2012 - January 6, 2013
Drawn primarily from the WCMA permanent collection, On the Grid explores the many manifestations of the grid in art—as a visual framework and as a subject in itself. Including works by artists such as Agnes Martin, Eadweard Muybridge, and Joseph Cornell, this exhibition challenges viewers to consider the myriad of ways our lives are mediated by grids—from tiled floors to comic books to city streets.
