“Die Ganze Chose” (The Whole Sha-bang)

May 13, 2005 - June 5, 2005

Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA) presents Die Ganze Chose, the Williams College senior students’ art exhibition that celebrates the culmination of each artist’s work.  The exhibition, which will be on view from May 13 through June 5, 2005, features the work of 28 Williams College art majors and displays the conclusion of four years of artistic labor.  Each artist is represented by several works, which range from large installations and sound projections, to photography, sculptures, and miniature paintings.  This variety of media and extremely diverse content contribute to a moving and inspiring exhibition. Charcoal, wax, plaster, wood, and egg tempera are but a few of the materials employed to illustrate such themes as the essence and identity of the female, political unrest, the webbing of memory, and the gestures and expressions of the human body.  The show will open with a reception from 7:30–9:00 pm on Friday, May 13 in the museum’s historic rotunda.
