Last week marked one month since 90 lucky students took home an artwork from the WALLS collection. Here at WCMA, we’re really interested in the knowledge and experiences generated during these semester-long loans. We checked in with students to find out how their thoughts have changed over the last few weeks. Here’s a roundup of some of their responses.

With the January 25th opening of American Art 1950-1975, WCMA’s newest acquisition, Joan Mitchell’s Sunflower VI will make its public debut. This will become the third painting from her 1969 Sunflower series that is on view in a museum. Serendipitously, staff members Marisa Repka ’14 (PR Intern) and Sarah Margerum (Public Engagement Manager) had the opportunity to visit the other two artworks during the holiday break. Maybe you’ve already heard whispers around campus about WALLS, WCMA’s new student art loan program. We’ve been hard at work behind the scenes and are happy to report some new and exciting developments.
