Williamstown Theatre Festival Stars Align on July 4!

Looking for something to do this July 4? Join us at the museum this Independence Day and be entertained by a star-studded reading of the Founding Documents of the United States of America! Actors Jessica Hecht and Steven Weber, and comedian Lewis Black, who are in town performing with the Williamstown Theatre Festival, will step off the stage and into our courtyard to read the Declaration of Independence and the British Reply, as well as the Preamble to the Constitution….

Katy Kline Appointed Interim Director

While WCMA is currently undergoing a search for its next director, the museum feels very fortunate to have Katy Kline step in to an interim role.  Kline has all of the attributes Williams is looking for in an interim director: proven leadership at a liberal arts college art museum, extensive ties with the Williams community, and a wealth of curatorial experience.

Double L Excentric Gyratory II on campus

George Rickey’s Double L Excentric Gyratory II is now the latest public art installation at Williams.   A graceful, 30-foot-high kinetic sculpture, the artwork features two 18-foot long stainless steel “L”s. This is the first purchase from the Class of 1961’s Public Art Fund.

The piece is easily seen by those driving along Main Street, right next to the ’62 Center for Theatre and Dance.  The “L”s are supported by a small “Y” jack and shift in a series of subtly smooth…
